Long
Kaelig Deloumeau-Prigent is a design engineering leader based near Seattle. Kaelig founded and co-chairs the Design Tokens W3C Community Group, the body behind the Design Tokens specification: an open format for sharing design decisions between design tools and code, which reached version 1 in 2025.
Over fifteen years, Kaelig has built design systems, frontend infrastructure, and web performance tooling at Intuit, Netlify, Shopify, Salesforce, the Financial Times, BBC News, and the Guardian. The 2016 essay “Introducing Design Systems Ops” helped define a discipline that DesignOps teams still practice today.
Kaelig’s current work explores how teams of AI agents can produce production-quality design system components without compromising design intent or engineering standards. Kaelig is the author of Maintainable CSS with Sass & Compass, an angel investor, and an advisor to startups building design and developer tools.
